Hello! Iron Girl here!

Ok, I am doing a study on this subject in my co-op. And I would like to post about it here.

Wise decisions.

OK, as a fleshy human being, [Christian or not] we do our best not to get into trouble. I mean, who wakes up every morning and starts plotting how to get into trouble? Like, 'mwhahahaha! *rubs hands together* how can I get arrested today?' Face it, the (normal) person doesn't do that.

A lot of the time, when we're in a situation, we ask the question: 'Is there anything wrong with this?' Many times, we try to find out how close we can get to sin without actually sinning. How can close can we get to the edge of the cliff without falling? Well guess what, eventually, you're going to cross that boundary and you're ganna fall. There's no turning back at that point.
[That's my attempt at an example]

Anyway, that's what we look like a lot of the time.
Face it, not only do we need a new hairdo but we look kind of dumb!
'Is there anything wrong with this?' is not the right question to be asking. What you should be asking is 'What is the wise thing to do?'

Another thing, 'How close can I get to sin without sinning?' Again, wrong question. What we should be asking is 'How close can I get to God in this situation?'

[Again, another failed attempt at an example. I won't be hired out anytime soon]

This is what we should look like. If our only question is 'how close can I get to God?' Then we don't even have to worry about the cliff. It no longer exists in our mind.

One more thing before fly off in my Iron suit. :p Some people walk around living like there is no enemy. Yet, he is very real. And the more you deny that he exists, the stronger grip he'll have on you. Remember, there is an enemy and he is always on duty.

1 Peter 5:8
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

 Ephesians 15-17
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise,  making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.  Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.

Hello! Iron Girl here!

Ok, today is going to be more of a fun post.

Alright, like everyone else out there, I watch TV. [gasp!] And some commercials are less then desired. But others I just cock my head at sometimes.

Nutella

OK, maybe a lot of people out there like this..this..stuff. Personally, I don't. But that's for another day.

You've probably seen the commercial for this. What does the mom say? 'Busy mornings, I choose Nutella! It looks like chocolate but it's healthy! And that's what my kids need!' Or something along those lines.

-_-  I think I saw this commercial on the Cartoon Network or Disney. These commercials are like *shhh, lets get our kids to eat healthier without them knowing!* OK, so you put it on the cartoon network?! Real nice secret keeping there, guys.

Another thing before I move onto another example. Whenever kids hear the words 'without them knowing' our ears perk right up and we immediately turn into a secret agent.(=_=) Sneaking through the house trying to figure out what the adults are talking about. Beware of that '-'.

Ok, example #2.

Fiber One cereal

I remember this commercial. Maybe you do too, lets see!

Parents are eating breakfast and they are all out of their kids favorite cereal. So when their boy comes out, they panic and grab a Fiber One cereal box. But they don't want the kid to see the word 'Fiber.' So the dad covers it with his hand and they proceed to tell their child that the title is 'Number One.' Of course, the kid eats it and decides to make it his regular cereal. With the parents smiling like idiots.

What you don't see is the next scene, where the parents are probably viciously ducktaping over the word 'Fiber.'
I'm sorry, but that was a bit extreme. It's one thing to just not say anything about the supposed healthy product. It's a whole other thing to outright lie to your child. Because some kids will wait until 12:00am and sneak into the pantry with a knife and undo all that ducktape that was put in place. [That would be me.] And *gasp!* It's healthy for me?! Guess who won't be eating breakfast the next morning.

What should you take away from this section?
1. Never say anything secretive in front of your child, unless you want a secret agent roaming your house. =_=
2. DO NOT lie to your child about anything regarding food. Because they will find out sooner or later.O-O

Ok, one last thing before I go.

The hotel picking commercial [I don't know the exact name.]

Basically, there was a string of commercials about it. The first on was:

A bus full of people is about to tip over the side of a bridge. One woman says: 'Maybe this vacation was a bad idea!' Then the back door of the bus opens and this guy that looks like a game show host pops in. 'Vacations are always a good idea!' And as he hustles everyone to safety, he's talking about how to book hotels at a low price on your phone...blah blah blah. Then everyone is out of the bus and he leans out the back door. 'save yourself.' he says, handing one woman a phone. Then he smiles. 'Some cash!' Then the bus falls and when it hits the bottom of the canyon, it explodes. Along with the guy. The woman is then shown reserving a hotel on the phone. A random person looks at her and the woman says: 'It's what he would've wanted.'
-_-
The other commercials included a suethsayer and stuff. Again, -_-

*din ding ding ding ding!* what's that? OH! That's the 'stupidest commercial in world' alarm going off!

Anyway, today was just a fun post.

Thanks for reading!

Hello! Iron Girl here!

I'm sorry it's been so long since my last post. Life has been a little crazy.

Today I want to write about friendships.

Maybe you have a best friend, or friends. I know I do. And I know I would never want that friendship(s) to be ruined.

Friends are very important to me, you can be crazy around them without fear of being looked at weird. And you can discuss things with them without fear of rejection.

That's the first thing I want to go over. [Note, this is geared towards the younger generation but I will do my best to bump it up a notch.]

Sometimes, when in search of a friend, we gravitate towards people who will accept us. As a fleshy human being, we automatically go towards acceptance and avoid rejection. But sometimes those people who accept us aren't the best people to be spending time with. When we meet someone, we need to make sure we do not let them influence us until there is no doubt that is a healthy relationship.

This is the circle of friendship. The first circle, [circle of concern] is for people you want to influence but not people you want influencing you. The second circle [circle of influence] is for the friends you are really close with and let influence you. The final circle [circle of intimacy] is for the person you have married (or will marry.) The last circle is a completely different subject matter I'm not going to get into today.

But, I went through and I marked my friends in this circle, I decided who I let influence me and my decisions. Maybe you want to do that too. Your choice.

Anyway, now I want to talk about the people you are already close to.

Now, just because you are good friends with someone doesn't mean there isn't a line that could be crossed. Me and my friends, we can be a little crazy, saying random things and such. But every time I'm about to say something, I have to think. 'is this really appropriate to be saying?' or 'am I going too far with what I am about to say?'
There is a very fine line to be crossed. And when you're in a friendship, you need to be aware are how far is too far.
Another thing, what if the person you're 'friends' with does something wrong? Are you going to approach them and tell them what you think? Think about it. If you're not comfortable with questioning someone about their actions when you know what they did was wrong, what kind of friendship do you have? Are you constantly tip-toeing because you're afraid of rejection?

Ask yourself this: Do I care about someone more then I care about the friendship?

I did a study on this subject a few days ago and it got me thinking. I wanted to share this because I know I DO NOT want to lose the friends I have. They are a real gem.

Proverbs 12:26
A righteous man is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

Hello! Iron Girl here!

Sorry for the long wait, guys, weekends are really busy for me and Monday has it's own complications.
Anywho, welcome to the last day of 'An Avenger for Christ.'

I have saved the best for last: Iron Man!

Believe me, it was hard not to post a lot lot more. *blush*

So, in the movie, Iron man is the main character. And anyone that disagrees was not watching the same movie I was.
Like in all his movies, [Iron man, Iron man 2] Tony Stark is a little self-centered. In the Avengers, I think he finally realized the value of a team. And in the end, he saves the world by almost sacrificing himself. [If anyone cried when u saw that part, please say so.]

By this time, we've gone over the Hulk, Captain America, and Hawkeye. So, you're pretty much ready to charge into 'battle.' Not just yet. There is one more point I need to go over then you can haul down on as many enemies as you want.

You're not Invincible. Neither is Iron Man, though sometimes he is portrayed that way. When you're out there, telling people about Jesus, firing your weapons and stuff; remember, the enemy can fight back too. Just because you're a Christian, doesn't mean God will protect you in a magical glowing bubble. You must be
discerning. I can't go jump off a cliff anytime I want. God is not meant to be challenged like that. Satan will fight back, have no doubt. Satan has a very strong grip on this world. The Bible says he is the god of this world. That is a little bit scary.

So, when out there, remember that you are not invincible, Satan will strike at some point and God isn't a force field provider. Before you go into battle, put on your spiritual armor and keep your mind sharp.

That is what I leave you with. weather you're a Hulk, a soldier, a marksman or an Iron Girl/man like me, the main point is to go out there and teach.

AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!

'Intelligence that fears intelligence? Historically not awesome.'

Hebrews 4;12
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Hello! Iron Girl here!

Before we get started, I would like to thank rudolphh10 for putting a link for my blog in her recent post. And I would like to recommend you check out hers! (link at bottom)

So, today is the third day of 'An Avenger for Christ.' if you've been reading for the last three days, I really appreciate it.

Today is Hawkeye. *Reminder, today was supposed to be Thor, but since he's a 'god' I've decided to leave him out.*

So, Hawkeye in the beginning of the movie, is taken over by Loki and is forced to do his bidding. Then when he and other peeps invade the ship, Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff) fights him, knocks him over the head and brings him back to his senses.

Hawkeye's 'power' is he is an excellent marksmen, several times throughout the movie, his arrows turn into different weapons. One is a bomb, another hacked a computer, and yet another he used as a grappling hook. So, pretty awesome right? Yup, I agree.

So, as a Christian, Satan is like the Chitari army, he's trying to make us stumble and get our focus off of God. Imagine a target, imagine that is God. [Not comparing God to a piece of paper, this just works for my example.] You need to keep a steady aim on God, follow him no matter what the world thinks or does. Satan will do anything to get you thinking what the world thinks instead of what God wants you to do.

Keep your 'arrow' pointed at the bullseye, dive into God's word and then use that knowledge to fight Satan.

In Acts, Paul and Silas preached at Berea, the people there were so eager to learn, they dove into scripture and many of them believed that day.

So, keep your mind and arrows sharp for the constant battle! ;)

Acts 17:11
These Jews were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they eagerly received the message, examining the scriptures carefully every day to see if these things were so.

Thanks for reading, and I promise a much longer post tomorrow!

Hello! Iron Girl here!

So, today is day two of 'Avenger for Christ' week, and I think things have been going pretty well.
There are only two Avengers left to go over after today: Hawkeye and Iron man. So lets get started!

Captain America: The First Avenger

In the movie, Captain America is a little out of place. He was frozen in ice for 70 years. A favorite of Howard Stark, Tony Stark's father. Tony and Steve don't exactly get along. Challenging each others strength and whatnot. But, it's Steve that helps Tony realize how self-centered he is.

Out of all the Avengers, I find Captain America the most caring, his main priority is protecting the people. But he isn't exactly soft either.

OK, so last time I was on the Hulk, and at the end, I was all like: 'Be an unstoppable Hulk' and stuff. Well, yes, but the main thing in spreading the Gospel message is to a friend to the people you are preaching to. If you're going out from a standpoint of: I'm going to bring lots of peeps to Christ and everyone will be in awe of me! OK, you know what, if you're doing that, this is sort of what you look like:

Men at a bar are talking
"So, dude, how many girls you get today?"
"I dunno, five, I suppose."
"I got six! MWAHAHAHA!"

Those men have their own major issues to deal with, but the point is, it's not a
Competition! If you go out and friend unbelievers while bringing them to Christ and you get maybe three out ten people who actually excepted God, you've achieved more then the other dude who just ministers to brag at the 'bar!'

Mathew 5:16
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

When you are ministering to people, be an unstoppable, loving friend.

You are now combining the Hulk and Captain America, who ever thought that would happen, right?

Thanks for reading!

Hello! Iron Girl here!
if you had read my earlier post and decided to come back, welcome! so glad you did! (:

So, today is day one of our 'Avenger for Christ' week. The first Avenger I'll be going over is The Hulk.

Yeah, you bud.

And of course, with the hulk, we get Dr. Banner as well.

See, he's happy, it just took a few moments.

Throughout the movie, The Hulk changes personalities, first he tries to kill Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff)
and basically everyone else. Then at the end, during the big battle, he controls his anger and helps the Avengers win.

OK, so as a Christian, Satan attempts to bring out our anger and turn us into a destroyer.
Take Charles Darwin for example. yes, we all know him and how he invented Evolution. But, did you know why he did? He was a believer! Then his little girl died, he blamed it on God. He created Evolution to make the Bible look like rubbish. Basically, Satan turned him into a 'Hulk' and Darwin destroyed some people's ability to except the Gospel message.

So, how can we fight back against this anger management predicament? What if you're trying to preach to a humanist*? You're using every trick in the book, and the dude is contradicting you at every turn and basically making you look like a fool instead of a  hot-blooded Avenger for Christ! But, there are several questions that can help you**.

The first one you can start off with is this:

1. Where do you think we go when we die?
This will get a lot of different answers. 'Oh! I'm going to Heaven, I'm just an awesomely nice, good person!'
'No where! we came from the ground and when I die, I will turn to dust once more!'
2. How do you know?
Woah! This question gets a lot of people riled up, especially if there is nothing for them to fall back on evidence-wise. It would be like if someone asked you, 'How old are you?' and of course you answer calmly (some ladies out there might not, if you're sensitive about your age *wink wink*) for, of course you know how old you are! But what if that person comes back and asks, 'well, how do you know?' I don't know about you, but I'd get a little upset if someone asked me this!
3. What if you're wrong and you die?
If you are in a discussion with someone is all worked up, you'll probably get the answer: 'well, I'm not!'
4. What difference does it make in your life?
Usually you don't get to this question, if you keep asking them the above questions, it usually keeps them occupied.

Now, if a person isn't too angry at you for questioning their belief system, they could come back at you with your own questions! They apply to us too! In that case, there are two things you could say:

'I asked you first!'
or
'What evidence would satisfy you?'

These questions work remarkably well, you will most likely not get a confession right then and there, but when they're lying in bed that night, they might question themselves.

Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Thank you for reading!

So go out there and become the unstoppable Hulk for the Lord. And give Satan the raspberries! personally, that's what I want to do, but, your choice! (:

* Humanism is a body of philosophies and ethical perspectives that emphasize the value of human beings, individually and collectively, and generally place more importance on rational thought than on strict faith or adherence to principle.

Hello, Iron Girl here. Today is the first day of a weekly series I will be writing. so, please come back and continue reading, there are great things in store.

Like a lot of people, I have seen the Avengers. And, I suppose like everyone, It would awesome to be an Avenger myself. To have fly around in an Iron suit, saving the day, or to have the talent of an expert marksman. We all have the same dream in that way.
So I got to thinking, since I'm a Christian, it wouldn't be very God-like of me to go around killing people, would it? no, but I thought, why can't I be an Avenger for God? use that excitement I have for the movies and put it towards a worth while goal!

Welcome to the introduction of 'An Avenger for Christ.'

Romans 2: 21-22
You therefor, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? you who preach that one shall not steal, do you steal? You who say that one should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? you who abhor idols, do you rob temples?

what I'm trying to say is, what I am going to be writing about applies to me too. I need to work on things myself as well. Please don't think I'm coming at this from a standpoint of: I've got all this down and other people need to know it. No, this is a learning experience for me too.

Martyrs for Christ, we all know about them. Back when people were forbidden to worship God, if they were found out, they would be beheaded, burned at the stake, tortured, I could go on if I wanted. In the Roman times, Christians were put in an arena with hungry lions. torn apart for the entertainment of others. We are so blessed to be able to praise God freely. So, an Avenger for Christ, avenge those Christians that died for their faith by bringing non believers to Christ.
In the next few days, I will go over each Avenger, and give you tips on how to preach the Gospel.
**note** I'm leaving out Thor and replacing him with Hawkeye. considering Thor is a supposed 'god'-note the small g. I hope you will come and learn with me.
the goal for me is this: Be the woman that when your feet hit the floor every morning, the devil says. 'Oh Crap! she's up!'

-Iron Girl 4 God.

Hello! I am Iron Girl. As it says in my 'about me' section, I am new to blogging but will do my best. Basically, this blog isn't about anything specific, I'll be writing about everything from crafts to what I like to call 'spiritual tid-bits.' I must warn you though, I am a bit on the weird side so I might post jokes and stuff sometimes.

Personal interests: My favorite movie is either Iron man or Avengers, although I still luv all the animated movies too (: I listen to a lot of music, basically all Christian, one of my favorite artists is Toby Mac. My favorite music is from Celtic Thunder, it is a music group that performs plays with only music. Books, well, I read a lot, so I have read many different books. I have to say my favorite are by Rick Riordan, he writes Greek and Egyptian mythology. Now, that might seem odd, Christian girl reading books about people who believes the world  was formed from an argument between the gods or something. I find it interesting that they do and never take any of the info to heart.

I appreciate you reading and invite you to come back soon! To Peace!

Philippians 4:13-
