HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Hope you are having an awesome year so far. :)

Personally, January 1st couldn't come faster. Why? Three words. Iron man 3. Ok, so technically that's two words and a number, but whatever. The trailer came out a few months ago, if that, and ever since I've been doing research. [call me a geek if you like. O_O]

So, this is my geeky post about my favorite superhero, Iron man.

Ok, in the comics, at one point, Tony is really close to death. He injects himself with a potion. [extrimist serum] he goes into a coma and ends up living. The serum saves him but also makes him a bit more then human. It allows him to control his suits with his mind. I have proof.

Ok, before this picture, what is he doing? he stares at a piece of armor on a table. In the Avengers, [mark 7] he created it so the suit communicated with his bracelets. IN this scene, what is on his hand/body? nothing. one piece of proof he might be using his mind.

He's in the hospital. Another piece of evidence, because he doesn't seem hurt in any way.

Again, who's in the suit? I guarantee Tony had a lot of security surrounding his suits. the Only way it could be working is if Tony can control the suit with his mind. This one's a long shot but I still put it in there.

To sum up, if Tony can indeed use his mind to control his suits, this means bad news.

Also, all my digging has produced some interesting material about the plot:

There’s going to be a big fight sequence with The Mandarin, who’s the main villain, which will involve none other than forty different Iron Man suits. There’s an amazing rescue where The Mandarin basically wants to bring down the American government and kill the President, and he launches an attack on Air Force One. All of the President and his men and staff get sucked out of the plane and Iron Man rescues them by forming this amazing human chain in the sky.

The best thing of all is Iron Man himself, Tony Stark, has an upgrade, which they’ve taken the storyline from the comics where he has this sensory thing installed so that basically he can manipulate the suit more with his mind. He points his hand or his leg at various parts of the suit and the suit just flies onto him… It’s like a form of telekinesis.

There’s an amazing sequence where he has this rooftop house that he builds to store all his Iron Man suits and it gets attacked by The Mandarin and these gunships.

There are forty Iron Man suits written into this feature in various ways… he needs this Iron Man army to go up against The Mandarin’s forces.

Hello! Iron Girl here!

I haven't posted in awhile. In my Bible class, we are studying authority. Honestly, it surprised me. I'd like to write about it today.

First off, many people say I'm not a 'normal' teenager. [gasp] In more ways then one. I don't have a phone. I don't wear make-up. I still hug my parents in public. And I usually wear covering clothes throughout the year. Plus I'm a little odd..but that's for another day....

Keep this in mind as you read.

The first thing that surprised me in this study was this: 'Ultimate freedom is found under God's authority.'
Um, excuse me? That makes no sense. Face it, authority and freedom aren't exactly best buds.

Think back to the story of Adam and Eve. What rules did God have in the garden? He had one. Adam and Eve could do anything except eat from one tree in the garden. But when Adam and Eve broke that one rule, it opened the door for sin to enter the world. Believe it or not, God doesn't like rules, he had only one in the garden.

Let me give you an example from my book. [not exact words]

Bobby's parents had simple rules. None too overbearing or dogmatic. One was that Bobby was not allowed to drink, be with friends who were drinking or even in a place where drinking was taking place. Bobby loved his parents and understood this rule. But then he got to thinking, none of his other friends parents had such a rule. Why should he follow it? So one night, he and his friends went to a party and had a few drinks. Bobby didn't have too many but his friends did. On the road, his friend was driving. They swerved to miss a car. They hit a van. The accident was horrific. The mother and the three children in the van were killed instantly. Also, Bobby's friend, the driver, was killed.

Now what are his consequences?

  • He has lost a friend
  • He has had a part in the death of a woman and three kids
  • He has seen families devastated for years to comes
  • He has broken the law by drinking while under the legal age
  • He will probably spend some time incarcerated
  • He may lose his driving privileges
  • He will lose the trust of his parents
  • He will lose the trust of his peers
  • He will probably lose friends
Sound like freedom to you?

I guess this surprised me, how much freedom you can have under authority.

Another thing, when I rebel against my authority, I am rebelling against God. Everyone in Authority has been placed there by God for a reason.

Parents
Teachers
Coaches
The Government
The President...

Romans 13: 1-2
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.

Hello! Iron Girl here!

Today is a little boxing match...you're welcome to take bets but please, somewhere other than here.

God
vs.
Satan

*Ding Ding* Round One!

Despite popular belief, Satan isn't omniscient, he doesn't know all. God is, he created the world so he knows everything that will happen and has happened. That's why when Satan attempts a secret move, God blocks it easily. Oh! Satan's down! 1-2-3-4-5-6- and..he's back up!
Another thing, God is omnipresent, he can be everywhere at the same time, Satan, isn't. Even though some people think he is. End of round one.

Psalm 147:5
Great is our Lord and mighty in power;
his understanding has no limit.

*Ding Ding* Round two!

There was several times in the Bible where Satan tried to get the best of God. When God fasted for 40 days, Satan tempted God three times. Now, what do we say in this situation? Ever seen a commercial for Trix? What do the kids say? 'Silly rabbit! Trix are for kids!' Ok, now we say: 'Silly Satan, Ultimate power is for God!' [Ok...so it's a bit cheesy] Anyway, Satan also tried to convince God that Job would stop loving him if God took away all Job had. God allowed Satan to harm Job. Satan took away Job's family, his house, everything he had basically. And then Satan harmed Job with sickness. Yet Job still praised God. So, Satan is left looking like a fool. Satan is down again! End of  round two.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

*Ding Ding* Round three!

Yes, Satan is roaming the world right now, he is the god of this world. But at the end of time, God will throw Satan into a bottomless pit and God will reign forever. Woah! Satan is down and it doesn't look like he's getting back up! TKO! Perfect.

So, to sum up. Satan does have a strong grip on this world, but he is not even close to the power and majesty of God. And one day, God will come back and Satan will be defeated forever.

There are only two options, if you walk away from God, you are actually walking towards something else. And that be Satan. The people who don't accept God will burn with Satan for eternity. The people who accept God as their Savior will be with him forever. A loving God who made you and cares for you. Which side will you choose?

Hello! Iron Girl here!

Ok, I am doing a study on this subject in my co-op. And I would like to post about it here.

Wise decisions.

OK, as a fleshy human being, [Christian or not] we do our best not to get into trouble. I mean, who wakes up every morning and starts plotting how to get into trouble? Like, 'mwhahahaha! *rubs hands together* how can I get arrested today?' Face it, the (normal) person doesn't do that.

A lot of the time, when we're in a situation, we ask the question: 'Is there anything wrong with this?' Many times, we try to find out how close we can get to sin without actually sinning. How can close can we get to the edge of the cliff without falling? Well guess what, eventually, you're going to cross that boundary and you're ganna fall. There's no turning back at that point.
[That's my attempt at an example]

Anyway, that's what we look like a lot of the time.
Face it, not only do we need a new hairdo but we look kind of dumb!
'Is there anything wrong with this?' is not the right question to be asking. What you should be asking is 'What is the wise thing to do?'

Another thing, 'How close can I get to sin without sinning?' Again, wrong question. What we should be asking is 'How close can I get to God in this situation?'

[Again, another failed attempt at an example. I won't be hired out anytime soon]

This is what we should look like. If our only question is 'how close can I get to God?' Then we don't even have to worry about the cliff. It no longer exists in our mind.

One more thing before fly off in my Iron suit. :p Some people walk around living like there is no enemy. Yet, he is very real. And the more you deny that he exists, the stronger grip he'll have on you. Remember, there is an enemy and he is always on duty.

1 Peter 5:8
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

 Ephesians 15-17
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise,  making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.  Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.

Hello! Iron Girl here!

Ok, today is going to be more of a fun post.

Alright, like everyone else out there, I watch TV. [gasp!] And some commercials are less then desired. But others I just cock my head at sometimes.

Nutella

OK, maybe a lot of people out there like this..this..stuff. Personally, I don't. But that's for another day.

You've probably seen the commercial for this. What does the mom say? 'Busy mornings, I choose Nutella! It looks like chocolate but it's healthy! And that's what my kids need!' Or something along those lines.

-_-  I think I saw this commercial on the Cartoon Network or Disney. These commercials are like *shhh, lets get our kids to eat healthier without them knowing!* OK, so you put it on the cartoon network?! Real nice secret keeping there, guys.

Another thing before I move onto another example. Whenever kids hear the words 'without them knowing' our ears perk right up and we immediately turn into a secret agent.(=_=) Sneaking through the house trying to figure out what the adults are talking about. Beware of that '-'.

Ok, example #2.

Fiber One cereal

I remember this commercial. Maybe you do too, lets see!

Parents are eating breakfast and they are all out of their kids favorite cereal. So when their boy comes out, they panic and grab a Fiber One cereal box. But they don't want the kid to see the word 'Fiber.' So the dad covers it with his hand and they proceed to tell their child that the title is 'Number One.' Of course, the kid eats it and decides to make it his regular cereal. With the parents smiling like idiots.

What you don't see is the next scene, where the parents are probably viciously ducktaping over the word 'Fiber.'
I'm sorry, but that was a bit extreme. It's one thing to just not say anything about the supposed healthy product. It's a whole other thing to outright lie to your child. Because some kids will wait until 12:00am and sneak into the pantry with a knife and undo all that ducktape that was put in place. [That would be me.] And *gasp!* It's healthy for me?! Guess who won't be eating breakfast the next morning.

What should you take away from this section?
1. Never say anything secretive in front of your child, unless you want a secret agent roaming your house. =_=
2. DO NOT lie to your child about anything regarding food. Because they will find out sooner or later.O-O

Ok, one last thing before I go.

The hotel picking commercial [I don't know the exact name.]

Basically, there was a string of commercials about it. The first on was:

A bus full of people is about to tip over the side of a bridge. One woman says: 'Maybe this vacation was a bad idea!' Then the back door of the bus opens and this guy that looks like a game show host pops in. 'Vacations are always a good idea!' And as he hustles everyone to safety, he's talking about how to book hotels at a low price on your phone...blah blah blah. Then everyone is out of the bus and he leans out the back door. 'save yourself.' he says, handing one woman a phone. Then he smiles. 'Some cash!' Then the bus falls and when it hits the bottom of the canyon, it explodes. Along with the guy. The woman is then shown reserving a hotel on the phone. A random person looks at her and the woman says: 'It's what he would've wanted.'
-_-
The other commercials included a suethsayer and stuff. Again, -_-

*din ding ding ding ding!* what's that? OH! That's the 'stupidest commercial in world' alarm going off!

Anyway, today was just a fun post.

Thanks for reading!

Hello! Iron Girl here!

I'm sorry it's been so long since my last post. Life has been a little crazy.

Today I want to write about friendships.

Maybe you have a best friend, or friends. I know I do. And I know I would never want that friendship(s) to be ruined.

Friends are very important to me, you can be crazy around them without fear of being looked at weird. And you can discuss things with them without fear of rejection.

That's the first thing I want to go over. [Note, this is geared towards the younger generation but I will do my best to bump it up a notch.]

Sometimes, when in search of a friend, we gravitate towards people who will accept us. As a fleshy human being, we automatically go towards acceptance and avoid rejection. But sometimes those people who accept us aren't the best people to be spending time with. When we meet someone, we need to make sure we do not let them influence us until there is no doubt that is a healthy relationship.

This is the circle of friendship. The first circle, [circle of concern] is for people you want to influence but not people you want influencing you. The second circle [circle of influence] is for the friends you are really close with and let influence you. The final circle [circle of intimacy] is for the person you have married (or will marry.) The last circle is a completely different subject matter I'm not going to get into today.

But, I went through and I marked my friends in this circle, I decided who I let influence me and my decisions. Maybe you want to do that too. Your choice.

Anyway, now I want to talk about the people you are already close to.

Now, just because you are good friends with someone doesn't mean there isn't a line that could be crossed. Me and my friends, we can be a little crazy, saying random things and such. But every time I'm about to say something, I have to think. 'is this really appropriate to be saying?' or 'am I going too far with what I am about to say?'
There is a very fine line to be crossed. And when you're in a friendship, you need to be aware are how far is too far.
Another thing, what if the person you're 'friends' with does something wrong? Are you going to approach them and tell them what you think? Think about it. If you're not comfortable with questioning someone about their actions when you know what they did was wrong, what kind of friendship do you have? Are you constantly tip-toeing because you're afraid of rejection?

Ask yourself this: Do I care about someone more then I care about the friendship?

I did a study on this subject a few days ago and it got me thinking. I wanted to share this because I know I DO NOT want to lose the friends I have. They are a real gem.

Proverbs 12:26
A righteous man is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
